Male Sterilization

Vasectomy

Procedure Description:
A minor surgical procedure to permanently prevent ability to father children.

What To Expect:
Usually this procedure is done late in the week as the patient can expect some swelling in the genital area. It is best if the patient can spend a weekend off his feet. Mild pain is controlled with pain pills.

Preprocedure:
Patient should bring an athletic supporter, clean groin thoroughly with soap and water and must have had a pre-procedure visit with the physician for a physical and informed consent.

Postprocedure:
We recommend the patient have someone to drive him home so that mild sedation can be given before or during the procedure.
